TRAC Lowveld Croc Canoe Marathon

A Premier Whitewater Canoe Marathon
The Lowveld Croc is one of South Africa’s most celebrated whitewater canoe marathons, taking place on a pristine stretch of the Crocodile River. More than just an exhilarating sporting event, this race was proudly named South Africa’s best K1 Canoe Race for 2024. It is a true celebration of the Lowveld’s natural beauty and vibrant community spirit.

The event is built on more than competition — it provides a platform to promote eco-conscious sport, support youth development, and position Mpumalanga as a world-class adventure destination.

With TRAC N4 as our title sponsor, the Croc Race Organising Team remains dedicated to our strategic goals:
• Promoting canoeing and healthy lifestyles in the region
• Protecting our rivers and natural ecosystems
• Empowering under-resourced paddlers and clubs
• Driving local economic and social upliftment
• Showcasing the Lowveld as a premier adventure tourism hub

Together with TRAC N4, we have achieved remarkable milestones. One of our proudest successes is the social development sponsorship, which makes it possible for paddlers from the Soweto Canoe and Recreation Club to compete year after year. Their incredible achievements — including two first-place finishes — stand as proof of the lasting impact we strive to create.
